Welcome to the photography section of the hobbies area. I'm currently using two cameras, a Canon EOS and Powershot, listed below. There are also photo galleries listed below by catagory.

Equipment
Canon EOS 10D
I invested in a Canon EOS 10D in 2005. In addition to the camera body, the battery grip with the hand strap (BG-ED3), the timer remote control (TC-80N3), a 28-300mm telephoto lens, a 100mm macro lens, a 19-35mm wide-angle lens and a handful of filters and other accessories now share space in a backpack. I added the Speedlite 420EX flash and the ST-E2 wireless transmitter later for low-light and remote flash effects. I've been happy with the setup; it gives me a lot of options in varied circumstances and conditions, and has been reliable and durable.
Canon Powershot S2 IS
The S2 IS is a few generations old now, but continues to capably serve as a more portable alternative to the EOS. The two features that I appreciate the most are the 10x optical zoom and 4 AA batteries (So it's never stuck in a charger). It is my choice in situations where the SLR is inconvenient and/or when I need a quick shot for the web. The quality of the photographs is excellent, with good color and contrast. But it doesn't have sports mode that is available on more recent models. At 5 megapixels it is currently set at 2592x1944 resolution, which is more than adequate for use on the web or for basic prints.
